When many folk first stumble into internet marketing, that’s where they tend to stick when it comes to promotions and creating their own products.

But, as the saying goes, many roads lead to Rome and heading down your own path can be a lot more satisfying as well as a lot more lucrative.

For one thing, there is less competition and your prospects and customers are far less jaded and therefore more open to what you have to say as well as sell.

With that in mind, this week I am going to share with you some of those different paths to success so you can get all inspired and fired up as well as educated on how to emulate these successful marketers who just happen to be in all kinds of different niches/fields.

First up we’ll hear from Ryan Lee who started out as a personal trainer and has become uber successful online:

Ryan mixes up his fitness stuff with his new anti-ageing line and his IM trainings which only goes to show that you can have an excellent crossover business if you wish.

Health and fitness are, of course, part of that magical list of surefire profitable ‘big’ niches. Another is relationships and someone who has made it huge in this niche is Matthew Hussey.

Matthew has not only conquered the dating and relationship market, he has now also moved into motivational and confidence courses and VIP days. Again, a great example of how you can move sideways into relating areas to maximise opportunities and keep things fresh.

His main site is here:

Take note of the various things he offers to suit all budgets including retreats and courses at differing price points as well as his freebie for signing up, a 30 page ‘Confidence Secrets’ report.

Thinking a little more laterally, you have someone like Dustin Lee who is a designer and set up his site to supply fonts, brushes, PhotoShop actions and much more to other designers as well as people like you and me who can use them to create t-shirts, products, graphics and so on.

If you have skills that translate digitally, you can do the same. This is Dustin’s site:

Joanna Penn is an author who translated her success in self-publishing into a site helping other authors with all kinds of resources – an excellent example of how to turn your passion into a business that supports it:

Cooking and food are huge online, especially on Pinterest and Instagram and Kathy at Healthy. Happy. Life. Has a very successful site where she shares her recipes as well as selling her cookbooks and monetizing through Amazon affiliate promos:

Gardening is another big niche and here’s an example of a great sub-niche within it, a rare and heirloom seed site.

This shows you how niching down can give you the edge as you stake out your particular corner of the internet to serve a passionate audience:

Now you might be thinking this is all very well but you still have no clue what niche you would like to target when staking out your corner of the internet…

Not to worry because there is some great advice on that here:
