Today I went on a dinosaur hunt.

Not just any old dinosaur hunt but one in gorgeous woodland where volunteers created it by hiding model dinos in among the trees for everyone to enjoy.

It made an already lovely walk so much more fun and is such a simple idea…but one that sets this apart as a family outing. It added a whole new element – one of magic and story.

Elements you can add to what you do online to make it so much more impactful.

Let’s start with how you can mix in more storytelling with these tools you can use for absolutely nada:

Another way to add magic to your marketing is through gamification – essentially what also happened on our walk.

Here are some open source tools you can use to do that:

And another selection here:

Want to learn more about gamification? You could take this Coursera course which won’t cost you a penny:

Or this tutorial on Udemy:

There are also these apps – again, most are no cost:

Everything we’ve talked about here is essentially about increasing engagement through story and gamification. Higher engagement leads to more sales.

If it’s your website that’s letting you down on that score, here are some ideas on how to fix that:

Of course, everyone thinks that AI is the silver bullet to more of almost everything…but your TED talk this week will show you just how shockingly stupid AI can be as well as how astonishingly smart:
