How to make money using spaghetti marketing

I’ve been doing something I heartily recommend you do too…

I’ve been having a long, hard think about where I want to take my business and, most importantly, how to simplify it so I am laser focused on what you really need.

As a result of that, you’ll be seeing changes implemented over the coming weeks starting with what I post here.

Don’t worry – it will still offer you all the best of the no cost stuff out there but I am adding in more of my own teaching with the Quick Tips pod/videocast I started today.

Yep, I literally sat up in bed this morning with my coffee and my cats, fired up Adobe Spark and created a quick 3 minute lesson you can take and put into action straight away.

Even the making of this was a lesson because I deliberately used a tool you can use yourself either on your phone or your desktop.

Adobe Spark is an excellent quick video creator and I especially wanted something that I could use on my iPhone because I want to create more quick, high quality content like this on the fly.

Why?

Because content marketing and, especially, storytelling is where it’s at this year and, I predict, long into the future.

If you can create quick, multiple examples of this in video form then you will be feeding the social media platforms what they love while also providing great value to your audience.

So let’s run through what I did so that you can do it too. First of all, I downloaded Adobe Spark to my phone as I had previously only used it on my desktop. You can get Spark and its suite of tools here:

https://spark.adobe.com/home/

Why did I use Spark?

Honestly, I would hate to subject you to me first thing in the morning without so much as a dab of lipstick or, more importantly, a pint of coffee.

If, like me, you’d rather hide behind the camera to create content then here are some other great no cost tools you can use:

https://flipagram.com/ (best for short videos that are great for Instagram)

It took me a few minutes to create the slideshow because I already knew what I wanted to teach. I suggest you bullet point first so you have a clear idea of the tip or idea you want to share.

I added photos from:

And used the music already supplied as background with Adobe Spark. I then simply recorded my narration over the top of the slides which were easy to create as Spark also has templates.

My tip on this video is about storytelling in marketing and the Spaghetti Marketing technique which is designed to free you up so that you actually create content for your blog/sites and social media rather than getting stuck in analysis paralysis.

This isn’t a new concept – it was coined by the guys at Referral Candy and essentially means you simply write about anything and everything to get you used to writing and publishing. You then see what works best for your audience.

Like them, I take this a stage further and use themes so that you write about anything within, say, the digital marketing niche or within, to get more specific, the email marketing niche until you look at your metrics and see what is most popular with your audience.

Here’s the video I created:

For my analytics, I love the Slimstat plugin:

I then uploaded the video I created in Spark to YouTube, Pinterest, my Facebook page and, of course, embedded it in my blog so that I get some lovely YouTube link juice.

Here are some Pinterest best video practices – it really is worth considering pinning videos as a great traffic driver. Pay attention in particular to what they have to say about storytelling videos:

As for the other change I am implementing this week, watch your inbox tomorrow when all will be revealed.

And if you don’t think you have a story to tell, this week’s TED talk will convince you otherwise:
