Hola and happy Labor Day to those of you who are celebrating! It’s a day that’s commemorated in different ways and on different dates in many countries – here in the UK, we call it May Day.

Behind all those days is the same idea, that of celebrating the working man and woman. With that in mind, I think it’s a great time to take stock and look at where you are now and where you want to be, especially as cold economic winds are blowing.

In times like this, the one thing you must not do is panic. Nor should you start thinking about a race to the bottom in either prices or quality.

What people need more than ever is good, ethical marketing of stuff they actually need and which will serve them well.

Of course, those needs are going to change depending on how they are set up to cope with the cost-of living crisis. But one thing I can guarantee is that the way you conduct yourself and your business now is absolutely crucial.

People will remember what you did as surely as they remember how businesses operated during the pandemic.

So what I want to do this week is share resources to help you help them in the best way possible, with the best ethical marketing tips I can find that will, in the long run, prove far more profitable than any fly-by-night scheme.

We’ll start with this – 5 tips that include one I especially love, ‘don’t focus on the product, focus on the customer.’

Then there are these excellent strategies that will make online life easier for you and better for your customers:

Then there are these 15 tips that include focusing on the user experience among other ideas that improve someone’s interactions with you – I think you can see where this is going:

One thing that comes up again and again is creating great content so here is an excellent guide on how to do that:

Of course, you also want to make sure you are following best practices on social media:

As well as in the courses you create:

And in ecommerce:

All of that will ensure that you truly serve your audience as best you can which will, in turn, serve you.

Your TED talk is one you may well return to again or again or even recommend to others (I hope you do):
