I’ve been organising a number of events recently and pulled off a major publicity coup with an upcoming one by getting it featured on a site that has a following of over 2M and a social media reach of twice that along with a substantial mailing list.
That was as a result of a publicity strategy I planned and put in place and I highly recommend that you do the same not just for events, if you organise them, but for your sites, products, major promotions and anything else that is newsworthy.
The first step, of course, is to realise that what you are doing is worthy of attention and that the more you get, the better for you and your business.
Once you have recognised that, you then have to plan how and when you are going to leverage all the platforms and opportunities at your disposal.
