This time of year always feels a bit different, doesn’t it?
Not just because of the holidays, but because there’s this subtle, collective shift in how we think, feel, buy and create.
And if you’re someone who makes and sells digital products, that shift matters more than any algorithm, any new platform or any so-called secret funnel hack.
Because here’s the truth most creators overlook…
People don’t just buy products.
They buy the feeling they want to have next.
And at this point in the year, those feelings change faster and hit harder than at any other time.
This is what I want to talk about today, the emotional undercurrent of Q4 and early Q1and how you can work with it instead of fighting against it…
And profit in the process.
The Emotional Pattern No One Talks About
Every year, like clockwork, the emotional landscape shifts in four quiet stages:
1. November – Pressure & Anticipation
People feel the weight of the year behind them and the new one approaching.
They’re looking for relief and quick wins.
2. December – Reflection & Reward
This is the month of “I deserve this” purchases.
People buy things that make them feel lighter, supported, or recognised.
3. Early January – Renewal & Reinvention
The great reset.
People want to believe they can start again.
Identity becomes the driver: “Who do I want to be this year?”
4. Late January/February – Stabilisation
Routine returns.
People seek tools that give them control and momentum.
When your content or offers match the emotional stage your audience is in, things click naturally.
This is the part most creators miss.
A Quick Exercise (Takes 30 Seconds)
Think of your niche.
Now answer this one question:
‘What is my audience most likely feeling right now…and what are they trying to move away from or towards?’
Avoid logic or niche jargon and focus on feelings. Are they…
Overwhelmed?
Hopeful?
Behind?
Motivated?
In need of a win?
This one question alone can reshape how your next offer, post or email performs.
Emotional alignment isn’t about being manipulative. It’s about being relevant.

Your TED talk this week is Simon Sinek, “People Don’t Buy What You Do.”
Emotional relevance trumps features every single time.
It aligns beautifully with everything we’re exploring this month.
I’ll leave you with this thought – you don’t have to create more. You just have to connect more.
Emotion is the shortest distance between your message and your buyer’s decision.
Next week (19 November at 9am ET), I’m releasing something that builds on everything we’ve been talking about here…
It’s called Seasonal Profit Surge and it’s my brand new, 48-hour system that turns emotion into easy sales.
