Every year, there’s a moment when sales just start moving.

You’ll notice it because messages land more easily, buyers click faster and even a small promo suddenly performs like a launch.

That moment isn’t luck – it’s timing.

In my last post, we talked about how emotion drives buying decisions during the holidays, when your audience is craving clarity, comfort and control.

In this one, we’re going deeper into the when behind the why because if you can learn to spot emotional momentum before everyone else, your campaigns won’t just resonate -they’ll ride the wave.

The Emotional Buying Wave

Your audience’s motivation follows a rhythm.

Between mid-November and early January, those emotional tides look something like this:

  1. Hope – “This time I’ll get ahead.”
  2. Pressure – “I’m running out of time.”
  3. Relief – “I just need something simple.”
  4. Reflection – “Next year will be different.”
  5. Renewal – “This is my fresh start.”

Each phase lasts about two weeks and every offer has a natural fit.

If you’re talking about simplicity or saving time, early December is your window.

If your message is about new beginnings or creative momentum, aim for the final week of December through early January.

That’s the rhythm you want to sync with.

Quick Application

Pull up one of your products or affiliate offers and ask:

“Which of these emotional phases does it align with right now – hope, pressure, relief, reflection, or renewal?”

Once you know, adjust your subject lines, graphics, and copy to match that emotion. That single tweak will often do more than any funnel rebuild ever could.

Quick Win Idea

Take one of your best-performing posts or emails from earlier this year and reframe it using one of the five emotional phases.

Example:

Old subject line: “How to build a side income in 2025”

Seasonal version: “Start 2025 strong even if this year’s been chaos.”

It’s the same message but emotionally right for right now.

Your TED Talk this week is actually an RSA talk – Dan Pink on The Secret of Perfect Timing.

It’s a brilliant exploration of how motivation rises and falls through predictable emotional cycles…exactly the principle that powers seasonal selling.

Next Sunday, I’ll be pulling back the curtain on Seasonal Profit Surge, the new system I’ve been testing that shows how to turn emotional buying patterns into real profit using AI.

It’s built for creators who don’t want to spend December buried in funnels or ads
but do want to understand how to make the biggest emotional quarter of the year pay off.

Seasonal Profit Surge launches Tuesday, November 18th, at 9am ET / 2pm GMT. You’ll get a private subscriber-only link before anyone else.

Until then…

Review your best offers. Match them to the emotion your audience is already feeling. And prepare to ride the final surge of the year.
