Every week when I sit down to write Weekend Takeaways I try to think of all of you – by that I mean I aim to come up with suggestions that will span the wide variety of online and offline interests you represent.

Of course, not everything I recommend will be of use to you personally but I hope that there is at least one nugget in each newsletter that you can take away and use.

With that in mind, please remember that I am always open to – indeed, I welcome – your ideas as well. Many of you have written in the past to share something you have found with our wider community and that is wonderful…so please keep ’em coming and share the love!

The only criteria are that the resource or training you find must be no cost and with no personal gain attached. It may sound hokey but I like to think of this as a resource yous trust to deliver sound, unbiased recommendations that will help us all further our lives and businesses.

That said, I’ve gathered together an eclectic bunch of freebies this week, starting with an excellent list of sites where you can promote your Kindle books (not producing those for yourself or clients? Why not?):

You will see a pop-up the first time you visit asking you to subscribe for a free video training course but hey – you can always click on the X to close it. Or sign up. The choice is yours. In any case, it’s a great list.

Staying with Kindle for a moment, here’s an excellent tutorial from Steve Scott on how to build a team to scale or ‘level up’ your Kindle business, something many people find hard to do:

If you use Photoshop, you’re going to love my next freebie – a fabulous plugin called Blend Me In that lets you access and use a huge collection of Creative Commons vectors without leaving Photoshop or Adobe illustrator:

I know many of you want and need free alternatives to MS Word. The ever brilliant Mashable has come up with this excellent collection:

Mashable has also come up trumps with this selection of 12 ecommerce tools to boost any small business:

For all of you product creators and affiliate marketers, this podcast on Solopreneur is particularly insightful, turning the spotlight on the launch process:

An excellent Kindle freebie this week in the form of Everything I Know by Paul Jarvis et al. I’ll let the first two lines of blurb speak for what is an enjoyable and thought-provoking read:

“The last thing the world needs is another “get-rich-like-me,” self-proclaimed expert on what it takes to work for yourself. Anti-guru Paul Jarvis has written Everything I Know as a no-rules guide through uncharted territory with stories based on his two decades of freelancing.”

I’ll leave you this week with one of the most popular TED talks later – love him or hate him, Tony Robbins delivers a classic on Why We Do What We Do:

Have a wonderful week!
