How’s that seasonal stress going? Feeling the frenzy or are you still ice cool and utterly relaxed?

In case you’re not, you’ll find a little gift for you under the Christmas Tree on the blog version of this newsletter (link below). Now let’s carry on and see if a few freebies can also help soothe your soul and boost your business…

There’s a lot of great software out there for sale and I’ve been promoting one I particularly like (and am having great fun using) this week but quite often – although not in that case – you’ll find a freebie version that does the job just as well.

Luckily for you, a lot of developers retain that altruistic streak that abounded in the early days of the Web and contribute their creations regularly to various no cost software sites.

Even better, you can find a handy directory of all those here, conveniently sorted into categories and usage:

CFS is another great site where you can find all sorts of entirely legal software programs at no cost to you:

It can be hard to find decent video animations for nada but I’ve stumbled across a nice collection here – use these as intros, backgrounds or inserts to spice up your sales and promo videos:

There are also some nice abstract video backgrounds here that you can use for commercial as well as personal projects:

Sometimes you want to use sound effects rather than music in your videos and audio creations – here’s an excellent collection started by a game designer with professional sound effects that won’t cost you a bean:

Wondering how you can use all those glorious freebies? Here’s one of the best no cost courses I’ve ever found online which will teach you how to use digital storytelling (essential!) on social media:

Want something a little more traditional? Try this course in social media marketing for international business:

Or just want a quick course at a more basic level?

Rounding off how we started, here’s another great TED video to keep you cool, calm and chilled (yes, it’s my mission for you right now!):
