So today I learned how to make sushi at our local fair and what a blast it was!

One of my fellow students looked at me and said, “You’re glowing,” and I was – with achievement. There is something so satisfying about learning a new skill, however small, and I hope today’s resources help you experience that.

Let’s start with a bunch of links to great freebie fonts you can use for commercial purposes.

I’m including this especially because I recommended a great t-shirt theme store this week and I’d like to make sure you all stay on the right side of the law by suggesting fonts and images you can use with the correct licenses to create your t-shirts…and indeed anything you sell or make for yourself or clients:

Next up a few sites where you can download images – I’ve recommended a bunch of these in past Weekend Takeaways but not these as far as I remember: First is Open Clipart where you can find a variety of images with unlimited commercial usage rights:

Next a couple of vector sites you can use for commercial purposes with various licenses – check each item you download to see what attribution etc is required:

Vectors are great but can be a pain to edit – here’s a good tree professional vector graphics editor you can use on PCs, Macs and with Linux:

In case you want to extend those design skills (and get that glow of satisfaction!) here’s a nice guide to dealing with typography for your projects and the web that you can download for nada:

And if you want to get really fancy, here’s an amazing freebie digital design handbook that runs to 108 pages of pure brilliance:

For your Kindle freebie this week, I’ve found a fab book entitled: Real Skills, Real Income: A Proven Marketing System to Land Well-Paid Freelance and Consulting Work in 30 Days or Less

Here’s what one reviewer had to say:

“The most practical book for freelancers that I’ve ever read.”

And to keep those freebies coming, here’s a superb one from those lovely Mind Valley folk by the esteemed Andre Chaperon on how to double your sales from email marketing without growing your list:

Staying with Mind Valley Insights, and in place of your TED talk this week, is this insightful and inspirational video that touches on something that I think affects us all:
