So many of us get stuck in a rut when it comes to IM and there is no bigger rut than IM itself.

Let me explain…

It’s all too easy to imagine that the only way to succeed is to stick to the IM niche itself when it comes to product creation or affiliate marketing but nothing could be further from the truth.

In fact, you can do a lot better in niches far removed from anything to do with marketing for many reasons, chief among them that people are less likely to be jaded and more willing to engage with you.

Of course, you need to pick a niche that works for you but that can also be waaaay outside the usual suspects of health, wealth and relationships. To prove that to you, this week I am focusing on how others have succeeded outside of the IM box and how you can too.

Let’s start with the podcast that inspired all of this – an excellent one, as usual, from Pat Flynn on how one woman has built an impressive business based on succulents:

If you liked that, you’ll also love this one from Pat with Coach Glitter who has created an equally impressive affiliate and product-based business without zillions of social media followers and focused on her particular passion:

No clue how to find your own outside of the box niche? Regular readers will know I am a huge fan of Niche Hacks and its founder, Stuart. Here’s his updated list of 1759 obscure niches for you – that perfect one might just be waiting within:

So now you have a site, you need traffic and one great way of getting that as well as building your platform is, of course, social media. Let’s go back to Stuart for his useful tutorial on the subject:

Instagram is a particularly good platform for niche marketers and this is a particularly good guide to utilizing it for maximum results:
