So here we are, in the dog days of 2013…or staring at the shiny light that is the coming year. It all depends on how you want to look at it.

I have a good feeling about the coming year and I’m not just saying that. There seems to be more hope and optimism about which can only translate into positive results if applied correctly.

To help you do that, I’ve pulled together a collection of helpful freebies, including some useful – or just downright gorgeous – printable planners to help you off to a streamlined start.

First, thought, is this wonderful workbook I found which helps you organize and plan every area of your life – you have to sign up to get it but well worth it at 76 pages of pure awesomeness:

On to your printables and here is a great goal list to help you define your goals and then break them down into actionable tasks:

Next a handy weekly snapshot to print out and fill in:

Lastly, a great free weekly strategy sheet:

Of course, predictions are popping up all over the place as to what 2014 will bring for marketers…I’ve even made a few myself 🙂

As you probably realise, Mashable is one of my go-to sources and here is their take on what the coming year will mean for marketers (chiming with several of my own thoughts on the subject):

Dave Chaffey’s insightful article is also very useful:

And if you’re an affiliate marketer take a look at this:

Irritating ads aside, Forbes is an essential read on the subject:

And if all that leaves you gasping for breath, take a few moments to read Michael Neill’s wise words on creating a Happy New Year – written in 2012 but, of course, still pertinent (you need to scroll down a little to get to the article):

Your Kindle freebie this week is the intriguingly titled Hooked: How To Build Habit Forming Products – as one reviewer says: “You’ll read this. Then you’ll hope your competition isn’t reading this. It’s that good.”

Finally, our TED talk is an extraordinary one delivered by an extraordinary woman…and it contains a message I hope you carry with you through 2014:

As for your extra freebie, here it is – a fabulous template that lets you set SMART marketing goals for 2014 courtesy of Hubspot. Get it here (you need to enter your details but, as always with Hubspot, it’s worth it):
