When it comes to things marketing, it’s important to pay attention to the right people so I thought this week I would focus on some of the real experts out there…

Not some of those self-styled gurus (although the people I have chosen certainly deserve that moniker more than most) but genuine, world-class experts in their field.

As always, all the resources here are absolutely, 100% zero cost so sit back, relax and prepare to learn some valuable stuff!

First up is uber copywriter John Carlton, a man who makes me laugh and grit my teeth (with envy) in equal measure. John can spin a sentence like no-one else but this is a particularly to the heart, on the nail piece he wrote…and re-wrote…just for this time of year.

Read it and emulate:

Then there are a couple of particularly brilliant podcasts from the guys at I Love Marketing that I want to share with you.

The first is with James Schramko, the tell it like it is Australian, who has rapidly carved a place for himself among the upper echelons of marketers and made millions in the process.

In this episode you’ll learn 6 questions James uses to turn skeptical prospects into satisfied customers as well as the ‘Just Level With Me’ technique that gets prospects to reveal exactly what you need to make sales:

Another guy who has a lot of marketing mojo is Gary Vaynerchuk and in typical forthright style he teaches you all things social media including:

‘where you can get templates, exact strategies and case studies that show you what to do (and how to do it) and turn it into tens of thousands of dollars (and in some cases, even millions of dollars) for you and your business’:

A list of resources like this wouldn’t be complete without Dan Kennedy…or at least 14 lessons learned from him translated into a bang up to date form relevant to online marketers by the excellent Sean Platt:

When it comes to email and affiliate marketing, one name that always comes up is that of Andre Chaperon.

He has updated his free Affiliate Bully course and promises to update it even more…in the meantime, yes this does contain a pitch for his TLB course right at the end, but the information it contains is enough to get you adding a lot of digits to your bank account, as he proves on Page 6:

Another name whispered with reverence in marketing circles is that of Perry Marshall and on this page of his site he offers you a great bunch of no cost marketing tools:

As for your Kindle freebie, this week it comes from Dr Scott Mills, professor and renowned business coach.  This is a great read on planning the easy way so you save yourself a ton of time and years of trial and error.

Here’s what one reviewer says: “Scott is a rock star when it comes to telling things like they are and going directly (and quickly) to the heart of the matter. This book gives a super simple, yet deeply profound, system to help entrepreneurs create their own evolutionary business plan.”

Finally, your TED talk this week comes from none other than Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, giving the Princeton graduation address. ‘Nuff said…
